Later on today, baring any problems, SpaceShipOne is slated to make the first commercial, sub-orbital space flight. Having seen the flight while passing through the solar system, the Vulcans will land and we'll have world peace. I wonder if we're ready to fight the Borg? Not without more caffeine, that's for sure.

Continuing this week's look at ironic news, Andover Consulting in San Francisco has closed its door and will be auctioning off all of its assets. Prior to shutting down Andover’s bread and butter was liquidating failed dotcoms.

"Continuing this week's look at ironic news, Andover Consulting in San Francisco has closed its door and will be auctioning off all of its assets. Prior to shutting down Andover’s bread and butter was liquidating failed dotcoms." not quite the case. We were getting rid of surplus assets. After shutting down about 50 companies, we had alot of junk. We downsized--as we were using most of the space for the stuff we would never sell.
Unfortunately, Able Auctions sent out the wrong email. Brett Johnson, my friend who was running the auction, tried to stop it. Unfortunately, it was too late.
We operate from a smaller space as we move systems much more quickly than we did before.
As an aside, one of our sources of computers and network gear is in Lubbock, TX.
Glad to hear they're doing well.
Clinton just doesn't get it (Miscellaneous)

Former President Bill Clinton is apparently "angry and disappointed" that he won't be allowed to speak at President Reagan's state funeral tomorrow. The current list of speakers include Reagan's Vice President (Pres. Bush, Sr.), the current President (Pres. Bush, Jr.) and one of Reagan's closest friends (Margaret Thatcher). This is neither a partisan nor a non-partisan event, it's a funeral. If a Democrat were in the White House, as Clinton was when President Nixon died, no doubt he'd be speaking tomorrow.
President Clinton, none of the people scheduled to speak tomorrow want to be there. They'd much rather there be no need for a state funeral. But there is, and so they'll be there out of a sense of mourning and respect, not politics.
Sir, if you're so desperate to attach yourself to President Reagan's legacy why not do what John Kerry did? Just skip ahead of the 10 hour line to view his body and sneak in a quick photo-op.

My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes.

Lauren passed her third and final certification test last night and is now a Certified Level 1 Claims Adjuster for Progressive. Hoody hoo! Not too bad for less than a year on the job. Not to brag but there are team leaders who haven’t certified, so this really is quite an accomplishment.
Speaking of Progressive, they now carry Segway Insurance. So, if your auto-balancing gyroscopes ever get hit by a truck you’ll be covered. One word of caution: if you want to get a quote online you'll need to use Internet Explorer. Progressive may be progressive, but their progressive website does a core-dump if you use Netscape. Oh, you can start the process with Netscape, just don't plan on finishing it. Whoops, guess they need a fresh batch of Indian programmers.
